Mihwa has been making titanium jewelry for over 30 years. Born and raised in South Korea, she incorporates her heritage into her art. Based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, she sells at local art markets year-round.

Anodizing is an electrochemical process some jewelers use to change the color of metals such as titanium, aluminum, and niobium. Dipping a reactive metal into a “bath” mixture of low-sudsing detergent attached to an anodizing power supply instantly changes the colors of metals. It also strengthens and protects jewelry. This process does not produce any hazardous waste. Titanium does not oxidize.
